Trying Era?
I started Cats & Snacks Pod with the intention of creating a space for me to try something new (Trying Era, what?) and to have some place to explore my own thoughts, feelings, and what I liked to call the “lore” of my life. We all have lore - it’s just the wisdom, knowledge, and legends surrounding your life.
I wanted to have a place to use my voice to speak my truths, and try new things. It served that purpose initially, but then my will to continue fizzled over time. Not because people weren’t listening; I feel like I was doing pretty well there for a new podcaster. But I just stopped. I didn’t think I was stopping when I did. I said I would continue, but I kept pushing off when I would finally record the next episode. I had a title - “Alignment Opportunities” - and I wanted to speak about how essentially any situation can be flipped into an Alignment Opportunity. I feel like I could still talk about that. But I completely stopped having the desire to actually record anything.
I know several things are contributing to how I feel, and why I stopped. I absolutely want to continue it at some point. I would be a filthy liar if I said I didn’t think speaking, whether on podcasts, stages, workshops, or teaching engagements, didn’t belong in my life. As much as it still gives me anxiety at times, it is also clearly something I am skilled in and will continue doing for the rest of my life in some capacity. I am meant to engage with others socially, teach, guide, and lead. No matter the fear that sometimes comes up as I step out of my comfort zone (classroom teaching), time and time again, the Universe has shown me it’s meant to be a part of my life.
I know stretching myself to feel comfort with being seen is one of my life lessons. This is something I am meant to grapple with and overcome. I know that. Hence why I am writing this here and now, hoping I can inspire and remind myself.
Until I overcome this, you can expect more blog posts. I know that this will end up being a tool for me to break down and unpack my thoughts and feelings, so I can keep moving forward toward the expansion my soul is desperately seeking.
